Site Rules and Booking Conditions
Brakes Coppice Park is a small, quiet campsite for couples, singles and families. The safety and enjoyment of the people staying at our campsite is paramount and therefore we request you read and agree to the following rules before booking. If you do not agree with the rules, we suggest you find an alternative campsite. We (the proprietors and their representatives) reserve the right to ask anyone staying on or visiting the campsite who contravenes these rules or behaves in a way that causes a nuisance or distress to others (whether proven or not) to leave the campsite immediately, ceasing the reservation (we shall not be liable for any extra costs incurred by you).
All bookings are dependent on customers’ signed agreement of these conditions:
Bookings and Arrival
We reserve the right to refuse any booking and we do not accept bookings from all male or all female parties of three or more adults, or groups of young people without a responsible adult (under 21 years of age).
Guests’ arrival must be after 2pm and before 9pm (please phone if you are arriving after 8pm). Pitch occupation before 2pm is not possible. All pitches must be vacated before 12pm on the day of departure.
New arrivals should park in the lay-by at Reception on arrival to report to the Warden before occupying a pitch, this is also when pitch fees (or remaining pitches if a deposit has been paid) must be paid. Cash is acceptable and debit/credit card payments are allowed for payments over £20.00. In-person payments must be verified by pin. We regret that we are unable to take any payment by cheque. Any balances to pay under £20.00 must be made in cash.
Bookings and the selection of particular pitches are subject to availability. Seven days will be allowed between enquiry and the return of the booking form with the appropriate deposit. If your form and deposit are not received, do not assume a booking is still available. We are unable to guarantee a specific pitch but will make every effort to fulfil reasonable requests. All one night bookings must be paid for in full at time of booking.
All people who stay at the campsite or visit must act in a courteous and considerate manner towards wardens and other guests.
Children must be supervised properly so that they do not cause a nuisance or endanger themselves or others. Children should not play in or around the shower/toilet block. Young children, particularly those under 6 must be accompanied by a responsible adult while in and around the toilet/shower block. Children must be supervised at all times by a suitable adult and at no time be left on the site unaccompanied. The supervising adult will be responsible for the child’s actions and thus liable for any damage caused by them.
All guests and visitors must not commit any acts of vandalism or nuisance or create any undue noise or disturbance (any persons found vandalising Brakes Coppice Park property will be prosecuted). Playing of loud music is not allowed, if the people on the pitch next to you can hear it, then it is too loud.
We expect guests to keep noise to an absolute minimum between 10.30pm and 8am.
All visitors to Brakes Coppice Park are expected to observe the rules. Visitors are allowed, by prior arrangement only. Visitors are only allowed on site between 9 am and 10 pm and are only permitted to park by Reception. A charge is payable for visitors regardless of their length of stay.
Health and Safety
The speed limit on the park is 5 mph. Guests and visitors are not permitted to bring commercial vehicles or light goods vans onto the site at any time. Bicycles are allowed but we request that they observe the speed limit. Recreational vehicles (quad bikes) are not permitted on the site. Ensure you and your guests/visitors are aware of the nearest fire point. Children must be supervised by the lakeside at all times, playing or cycling there is strictly prohibited. Boating or swimming is not allowed in the fishing lake.
Keep your dog on a short lead on the park at all times. The ‘dog walk’ in the woods is available for exercising your dog off the lead. (If your dog likes jumping fences it would be wise to keep them on a lead as some of the farmland around Brakes Coppice Park is used for cattle and sheep). Please ask the wardens for information regarding alternative local walks if necessary. Dogs should not be left unattended on the site. Clean up after your dog around the site and in the woods.
The lighting of fires in the woodland or on the campsite will result in instant expulsion from the park (this includes the use of Chinese lanterns and fireworks).
The flying of any type of drone is not permitted.
We allow raised gas barbeques and raised charcoal barbeques only. No other open fires, non-proprietary barbeques or wood burning barbeques are permitted (thus wood is not allowed to be collected from the woodland). You must ensure the grass is not scorched or burned by use of a barbeque—such damage will not be tolerated. Chinese lanterns (or similar) and fireworks are not allowed. All ash and hot embers from barbeques must be placed in the galvanised dustbins provided.
We do not allow commercial or light goods vehicles on site.
The use of generators is not permitted.
Cutting or damaging trees or other vegetation is not permitted.
For the comfort of all guests, footballs and the kicking of any type of ball is not allowed on the campsite. Other ball games are allowed although they should be played with the respect and consideration of other guests. Hard balls (ie. Cricket balls) are also not allowed.
The use of two-way/walkie talkies or CB Radios is not allowed within the camping areas. Water pistols, the use, or filling of them is not allowed in or around the toilet/shower block. The use of any type of firearm, catapult, archery equipment or fireworks are not allowed on site or in the woodland.
Damage to fences or digging on pitches is not allowed. Brakes Coppice Park is surrounded by farmland; we do not tolerate damage from guests and visitors to our own and neighbouring properties.
The washing of vehicles, caravans, boats, motorhomes, trailers and jet-skis is not allowed. The water supplied is for site use only. The filling of tanks in motorhomes is prohibited unless permission is sought in advance and the appropriate charge paid.
The security barrier is in place between 11 pm and 7 am. Vehicle entry and exit to the site between these hours is not allowed. Lit parking is available at reception.
Guests using the laundry facilities should abide the usual washing machine and tumble dryer load limits.
